Summary of Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Glen-Gery Corporation, a leading brick manufacturer, has an immediate opening for an experienced Maintenance Supervisor/Engineer at our Shoemakersville PA facility.  In this position, you will lead and participate in a maintenance crew challenged with keeping equipment running efficiently. Qualified applicants will have proven expertise in determining equipment failures, and implementing corrective actions in an automated facility. This individual will be required to integrate and install new equipment technologies and be able to establish and implement preventive maintenance systems with experience in electrical controls and PLC. Position will also be responsible for the training of all hourly maintenance employees and the improvement of equipment reliability.

  • Ensures that plans, schedules, and materials are available to allow for maintenance work to be handled effectively and efficiently (daily and outages)
  • Ensure safety compliance and employee issues or concerns are correctly addressed and resolved
  • Provide maintenance job planning as required for the facility and effectively communicates (written/verbal) results and action plans as appropriate
  • Initiate, sustain and manage an ongoing preventative maintenance program for machinery and associated components and spare parts management system

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of an AS degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering or Engineering Technology and a minimum 5 years progressive experience in a manufacturing plant or commensurate experience
  • Ability to read blueprints and drawings and strong electrical/mechanical/hydraulic/pneumatic aptitude on production machinery.
  • Current understanding of emerging industry regulations and codes relative to mechanical and electrical systems design and operation including 70E implementation
  • Proven knowledge of PLC controls and variable speed drives
  • Proven knowledge of 3 phase electric

Preferences:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical preferred)
  • Experience within the brick, masonry, foundry or similar industries preferred
  • Licensed electrician preferred
